Understanding the world is not perfect is a rational thought, and a good one at that,
But what is the point of ringing in the New when we stick to our old habits.
So before I wish all a Happy New year,
There are a few little things I’d like to say.
Let us love a little bit more; and do away with hate.
For it’s our world, and for our children a glorious one we must create.
Let’s listen before we speak; let’s think before we judge.
Let’s greet each other with kindness, a little more kisses, a little more hugs.
Love the family that loves you, no matter what you call them, brother, sister, father, mother.
Because when prayers aren’t answered, sometimes all we have is each other.
Let’s play, sing, dance and work hard, but don’t forget to have fun along the way.
Let’s not dwell on past mistakes, lets live for today!
Lets loosen up a bit, have a sense of humor and not take life so damn seriously.
And the next time you see your significant other, hold them, kiss them, deep and passionately.
For unseen circumstances might keep you apart.
What tomorrow brings is uncertain, but at least we’ll go out with love in our hearts.
Let’s be a little bit more honest, have an open mind, think rationally, be fair.
Let our actions speak louder than words; let’s show that we really do care.
The world is full of violence, sadness and sorrow.
But that can change!
For it’s the little things that we all do today, which will make a big difference tomorrow
